So you’ve probably been hearing a lot about Double Cluepon’s new writers (No? Nothing? Well thank god you’re here). Umabel and Macaria joined the team at the beginning of the year and have been busy beavers crafting story, dialogue, quests, puzzles, and mini-games for Emerald Kingdom. They are terribly enthusiastic about this endeavor, and it appears their gentle spirits have yet to be broken by the long nights of creative solitude, writing with quill pens in fervent hunch, cursing the muses with fists raised to the sky, whale-oil ink under their nails, balking at the incredible responsibility of CREATING A WHOLE UNIVERSE.

We’re pretty sure they can handle it.

We sat these two ladies down for an interview and picked their brains about gaming, Emerald Kingdom, life, the universe, and everything. And without further ado (because their debutante dresses are really uncomfortable), we’d like to present Umabel and Macaria at their official “coming out” ball/blog post.

thefusspot: I’ve been terrible about posting artwork lately, and even worse about promoting the game I’ve been working on.  BAD me. The ground, I just painted.  But those trees are straight out of the game.  They’re some of the largest props we’ve got thus far. I’ll continue to post things as I can, but for now, you can check out the Emerald Kingdom website for a bit more info on what we aim to do with this thing.  It’s gonna be big. It’s daunting as hell some days, being a bunch of utter nobodies trying to make a huge game like this, but I like it. Hey all!  The Art Director posted this little tidbit on her art blog a little while ago.  If you want a clue as to what the game’s final graphics are going to look like, this here is a good start. It was like pulling teeth to get all of those little leaves done, but that’s just a testament to how much work we’re putting into this thing to try and give you a beautiful experience. :D

I was at Target yesterday and this little girl wanted to buy Halo 4, but this lady came up to her and said video games are for boys. This lady had a box of trix in her cart and so the girl grabs the box and said ‘and trix are for kids.’ and ran off with the cereal and the game.
